The Bachelor of Theology studies is intended to offer a degree program for training in Pastoral ministry of the Church. The course emphasizes study of the Bible, Christian faith, History of Christianity, and Religions and provides opportunities for ministerial practice.

Every student is also required to complete the ongoing program of ministerial training parallel to the regular classes and one-month intensive ministerial orientation at the end of each accademic year.

ADMISSION QUALIFICATIONS

• a) A candidate who has passed Higher Secondary examination (+2) or its recognized equivalent program [e.g., all Diploma Courses (after completing 10 th standard) with a minimum of two year duration, such as ITI, Nursing, Hotel Management etc., recognized by the Govt. Education Department, considered to be equivalent to 12 th standard].


• b) He/ She has passed 10 th standard and should have done two years of further study in a theological or secular institution and should have experience in Christian ministry or any public service.


• c) A mature candidate, who has attained 25 years of age; have minimum qualification of 10 th standard, have three years of ministerial experience; and passed Mature Candidate Entrance Examination of the Senate of Serampore College held in the month of October / November, shall be eligible for the B.Th. program.


• d) He/ She has completed Dip. C.S with English Qualifying Examination (if he/ she has not passed English as a compulsory subject in +2 under the Board Examination), shall be enrolled in the 2 nd year of the 3 year B.Th. degree program.


• e) He/she has completed Dip. B.T. with qualifying papers BOS11 and BOS12 (if he/ she has not passed English as a compulsory subject in +2 under the Board Examination), shall be enrolled in the 2 nd year of the 3 year B.Th. degree program.
